  • AFGRI Insurance Brokers is looking for an experienced Underwriting Manager to ensure our adherence to industry regulations and uphold the highest risk management standards.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • BCom or Bachelor’s degree in Law, Risk Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • RE5.
  • 5 – 8 years of Management experience in Short Term underwriting.
  • Certifications such as Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) qualifications, or specific insurance compliance certifications will be an advantage.
  • Extensive experience as a Super User of the Cardinal Broker Administration System is essential.

Key Performance Areas

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the organisation complies with the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) and Prudential Authority (PA) regulations, as well as other relevant legislation such as the Insurance Act of 2017.
  • Risk Management: Conduct regular risk assessments, manage compliance risks, and address incidents and breaches.
  • Insurer Liaison: Work closely with insurers on product updates, underwriting criteria, and compliance matters.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct internal compliance audits, coordinate with external auditors, and ensure policies and procedures are followed.
  • System Administration: Manage system upgrades, product profiles, and provide training on the Cardinal broker administration system.
  • Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and provide training to ensure staff adherence.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies, maintaining accurate compliance records.
