  • Contributing to weekly editorials (when not editing) with the sole purpose of generating entertaining and informative television.
  • Liaising with the Executive Producer, Managing Editor, and Producers daily.
  • QC’ing weekly episodes.
  • Media Management/Archiving
  • Ingesting of raw footage and the creation of insert specific working files.
  • Ensuring back-ups of active files and effective management of hard drive space.
  • Assisting in sending interviews to the relevant team members for transcriptions.
  • Managing hard drives, servers and editing equipment, in an effort, to maximise storage space and minimise wastage.
  • On going checks on relevant hardware, ensuring all resources are in working order.
  • Ensuring back-ups of all active projects are created and maintained.
  • Archiving aired programmes, B-roll and Final Cut projects.

Performance Criteria

Key Performance Indicator 1

  • Ensuring weekly back-ups of active files and effective management of hard drives, servers and editing equipment, in an effort, to maximise storage space.

Key Performance Indicator 2

  • Providing the highest quality of work daily, both artistically and technically, while working within the limits imposed by available deadlines.

Key Performance Indicator 3

  • Editing, packaging, and delivering of weekly and monthly promos as well as episodes.

Key Performance Indicator 4

  • Editing daily and weekly offline and online versions of episodic segments as well as implementing QC notes after viewings.

Key Performance Indicator 5

  • Creating of daily imaginative edits which will continue to set The Show apart.

Key Performance Indicator 6

  • Building and designing motion graphics and design holding devices as well as creating effects and transitions for weekly episodic edits. Implementing colour grading and choosing compelling and effective music for each edit.

Requirements

  • A National Senior Certificate
  • A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience within a similar role
