Key responsibilities:
- Use IT systems to manage stock levels, delivery times and transport costs.
- Use associated information systems to coordinate and control the order cycle.
- Use data from IT systems to evaluate performance and quality and to plan improvements.
- Allocate and manage resources according to changing needs.
- Scanning of POD’s daily
- Report low stock items to the Buyer to ensure that the optimum levels of required stocks, materials and equipment are maintained.
- Manage employees under your control.
- Liaise and negotiate with customers and suppliers.
- Continually try to improve and develop business performance within the constraints of legislation, fuel costs and rising environmental pressures
- Set objectives, Work in new supply strategies, Plan Vehicle routes
- Responsible for the licencing and maintenance of all machinery and vehicles at your business unit.
- Monitoring and Reporting on the monthly Fuel Report
- Monitoring all GPS Reports to determine any anomalies on SPEED, EXCESS IDLING, Deviance from the Set Delivery Route etc
- Planning and administration of internal manufacturing operations
- Stock Count management delivery and reporting
- Implement and maintain Group policies with respect to quality and safety requirements within the facility
- Any other duties and tasks as assigned by management from time to time.
- Related work experience such as warehousing, stock control, financial administration
- A logical and systematic approach to work
- Good time management ability
- The ability to solve problems and make decisions, as well as think laterally and offer creative solutions.
- Commercial awareness and numeracy and financial skills.
- The ability to manage change.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team, as well as manage people.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Negotiation and analytical skills.
- A positive attitude to continued learning.
Minimum academic qualification:
- Qualifications as an added advantage: Diploma in Supply Chain/Production or Equivalent
Experience required:
- General work experience (years): 2-3 years in a medium to large service orientated organization
- Specific to the position (level/discipline/years): 3-5 years in production processes / logistical environment
- Industry: Warehouse /Logistics
