KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Forecasting parts needs and ordering parts to maintain optimal inventory levels
  • Monitoring the current parts and new machinery inventory. Supervise inbound parts and outbound parts as well as unpacking, checking of products.
  • Responsible to oversee the distribution of stock as per allocation. Labelling and Marking product as per specification. Ensure shipments are received, checked, allocated and distributed to customers within the prescribed time frame.
  • Pricing parts to maintain profitability.
  • Helping customers find and purchase the correct parts.
  • Collaborating with service managers to ensure all parts are available for repair job
  • Receipt of Stock on ERP (Enterprise Resourcing Planning) at Warehouse Level
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement best practices for a safe working environment.
  • Implement and maintain efficient warehouse layout and storage methods to maximize space utilization.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Service and Sales departments to fulfil orders, resolve inventory discrepancies, and address customer needs
  • Develop and implement stock control policies. Managing the reconciliation of stock, monitor and report stock variances. Ensuring that the warehouse is operating effectively.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems and other technology to track inventory, shipments, and operational performance.
  • Lead, motivate, manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives.
  • Set departmental objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.
  • Staff Appraisals, Training and performance Management.
  • In-depth understanding of industry and company best practices for warehousing.
  • Manage, report and comment regularly (weekly/monthly) the business KPI’s on delivery, warehouse activities, action plans and cost. Report relevant KPI to Head Office.
  • Give transparency on the cost of warehousing and delivery services.
  • Ensure collaboration with internal customers and external customers for a quick reaction to urgencies or issues.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Relevant experience in Stock control or warehouse management
  • Ability to prioritise and effectively manage changing workload and priorities
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics processes
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using warehouse management software and other technology tools
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices for warehouse operations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on process improvement

MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Matric Certificate
  • Bachelor’s Degree or NDip in Supply Chain Management or related field. (required)
