  • Our client, a well-established Information Technology company, is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to lead their sales team based in Centurion, Gauteng. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of increasing sales performance, managing teams, and driving profitability.

Minimum Requirements

  • Essential: Matric.
  • Relevant qualification in sales management would be highly beneficial.
  • Essential: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar managerial role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Health and Safety regulations. 
  • Comfortable with travelling to clients and available for work on Saturdays.

 Roles and Responsibilities

  • The Sales Manager is tasked with overseeing the daily operations of the sales department and its team, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall strategy.
  • A key objective of the Sales Manager’s role is to enhance the sales department’s commercial success by increasing revenue and optimising profitability.
  • Meeting performance targets will involve focusing on customer service, regional marketing, sales activities, and administrative duties.
  • Day-to-day responsibilities also include managing staff, identifying new opportunities to drive sales growth, and responding to customer needs and expectations.
  • Weekly meetings are held with the Sales Team, including one-on-one discussions, and minutes are shared with Senior Management.
  • Leading and motivating the sales team to drive sales performance and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Setting individual sales targets that align with the company’s overall sales goals.
  • Reviewing sales data and projecting future sales volumes to maximise profit.
  • Interpreting local and regional market trends to support strategic planning.
  • Utilising IT systems for recording sales, data analysis, and forecasting.
  • Handling staff matters such as conducting performance reviews, appraisals, and coordinating training and development programmes.
  • Ensuring continuous training for the sales team and relevant personnel on both existing and new products.
  • Upholding quality standards, customer service, and health and safety regulations.
  • Addressing customer complaints related to sales, quality, and market trends.
  • Planning and executing promotions, displays, and events.
  • Scheduling and leading team meetings as needed.
  • Keeping colleagues informed on business performance, new projects, and other key developments.
  • Regularly walking the sales floor to engage with staff and customers, and to address any urgent issues.
  • Staying informed about market trends, understanding future customer needs, and monitoring competitor activity.
  • Performing any other duties relevant to the branch as directed by the Managing Director or their delegate.
