Description
Overview
- Senior HRBP role to provide support to the HR GM in overseeing all the organisation’s functions as well as the day-to-day operations of the business. This role will be responsible to manage end to end senior HR services to the relevant business units, by translating the overarching people strategy into an implementable HR plan and employee value proposition.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, or related field
- Postgraduate qualification or HR certification (e.g., CIPD, SABPP) would be advantageous
Experience
- 7–10 years’ HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in a Business Partnering role in the manufacturing or industrial environment
- Experience of Handling disciplinary matter/hearing, grievances and third party referrals
- Proven experience in labour relations and unionised environments
- Experience in the development, interpretation, and implementation of HR policies
- Strong understanding of employment legislation
- Knowledge of training and skills development principles and processes
- Payroll administration knowledge
- Experience in data analysis and statistical reporting
Duties
Strategic Business Partnering
- Develop a good understanding of the business in order to partner at the right level and influence HR related decisions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals.
- Provide expert HR guidance on organisational design, workforce planning, and change management.
- Translate business strategy into people priorities and actionable HR plans.
- Provide advice and guidance on complex matters to managers and employees across the business on all HR related matters
Talent Management & Acquisition
- Manage and partner with recruitment teams on the delivery on talent acquisition
- Drive talent management processes including succession planning, talent reviews, and career development.
- Assist with the development and implementation of appropriate talent management strategies aligned to the business strategy
Analyse, interpret and conduct a trend analysis on HR data
- Monthly analysis and reporting on key HR trends and provide solutions as required
- Provide input and metrics to relevant Divisional and Group functions
- Track KPIs aligned with business and HR strategy
Performance management
- Implement and monitor performance management frameworks.
- Facilitate the implementation and maintenance of the performance management process (contracting, appraisals, reporting on trends, informal training)
- Support line management with performance improvement, feedback, and employee development.
- Continuous education regarding the performance management process
- Facilitate performance improvement processes for underperforming employees
Culture and Engagement
- Facilitate and manage any change management interventions within business units
- Ensure the effective facilitation of engagement survey in respect of completion rates and provide appropriate and strategic feedback to respective business units
- Analyse engagement survey results and implement action plans.
- Promote a high-performance, safety-first, and inclusive work culture.
Learning and Development
- Facilitate discussions regarding work-related and employee development learning opportunities
- Provide input and assistance in the placement of learners, graduates and apprentices as required by business units and in line with learning and development requirements
- Ensure alignment of training interventions to the talent management and development requirements
- Facilitate delivery on L&D needs through companywide programmes and putting interventions in place together with the L&D department
- Pro-actively addressing training needs in consultation with relevant business unit managers and L&D department Employee Relations and Labour Management
- Manage complex employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent practices.
- Support engagement with unions, including negotiations and dispute resolution.
- Provide sound advice in ensuring compliance with labour laws, company policies, and industry regulations.
- Provide support to line managers in dealing with disciplinary, incapacity and grievance matters
- Support the business with matters that have been referred externally for conciliation and arbitration
