Social Media Officer (12 Months Contract) – REF: JW392EX/2024 needed at Johannesburg Water

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Timeously responding to customers and other social media queries. Assisting with logging and escalating calls received on social media platforms with the Johannesburg Water call centre.
• Work with different teams to identify opportunities to promote the Entity’s brand and keep stakeholders informed through communication campaigns, educational programs, video messaging, digital posters, and pamphlets. Live coverage of Johannesburg Water events. Identify and escalate reputational issues emerging on social media.
• Assist in writing and editing media statements, customer notices, and other write-ups to be posted on social media platforms. Develop copy intended to market key aspects of Johannesburg Water, special projects and campaigns

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Essential qualifications and experience:

• NQF 6 qualification in one of the fields of journalism, public relations, digital marketing or related field.
• 3 years’ experience in writing, editing and digital marketing experience
• Demonstrate experience in social media crisis communication
• Demonstrate experience in social media campaigns, planning and execution
• Experience in digital marketing techniques and social media usability principles
