Purpose of the job:
- To provide strategic leadership and management globally for quality activities that actively promote a culture of Total Quality Management within the company. To ensure that quality assurance, quality systems, quality control testing, and quality engineering activities are effective, efficient, and in compliance with regulatory expectations and quality standards.
Qualification and expertise:
- B.Eng. Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Industrial Engineering or Equivalent.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer/Manager/ SAQI Quality Management or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the Electronic or Automative industries or similar quality discipline.
- Experience with people management.
- High level of computer literacy and Business acumen.
- Project Management experience.
- Expert in leading root cause analyses.
- In depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards.
- Must possess strong research, writing, analytical and organizational skills.
- Exposure to product qualification and approvals will be advantageous.
Responsibilities : Functional:
- Accountable for defining quality standards by establishing clear quality benchmarks and metrics.
- Responsible for developing quality control plans with detailed product inspection and testing procedures.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to create detailed Design and Process FMEAs.
- Ensure the Implementation of quality management systems (QMS) to integrate quality principles into the production process.
- Oversee supplier performance against quality standards and ensure adherence to the set supplier audit standards by conducting supplier quality audits.
- Ensure inspections of products at various stages of production to identify defects.
- Analyse quality data using statistical process control (SPC) to monitor process capability.
- Identify root causes by investigating quality issues and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor and verify compliance with quality standards and regulations.
- Accountable for defining a framework to propel the organisation to Capability maturity level 5. (Driven by continuous improvement)
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives by driving process enhancements.
- Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles to streamline production processes to eliminate waste.
- Analyse customer feedback to improve product quality.
- Lead the quality team, providing guidance, motivation, and development opportunities.
- Ensure cross-functional collaboration with other departments.
- Managing quality budgets and allocate resources effectively.
- Build strong customer relationships and address customer complaints and concerns.
- Responsible for gathering customer feedback using insights to drive product improvements.
- Responsible for delivering products that meet or exceed customer requirements.
- Continuously monitor and analyse EDU, EIU and detonator manufacturing data to provide a weekly production quality management dashboard.
- Final product reviews to compare with the initial requirements and approve/reject based on quality standard compliance.
