Your role and responsibilities
- Providing technical support and solves problems in own expertise area via remote or on-site service in any service category (installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, engineering and consulting advanced services extensions, upgrades and retrofits end of life services, replacements, etc.)
- Investigating customer needs through professional consulting, providing technical consulting on service solutions to management and customers, determining effective service applications, equipment and methods to develop, market or manufacture new service offerings to respond to customer requirements cost effectively
- Managing customer relationships and maintaining regular contacts with key customers, identifying new sales opportunities, proactively communicating both with the customer and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for service growth, conducting specialist support and advisory service for Sales team
- Coordinating and performing specialist service projects in relevant areas internally and externally (e.g. creating milestones, project plan, cost supervision, action steps, project reviews, project supervision) including all commercials
- Preparing all documents and reporting to be signed by the customer representative, reporting work done in a timely manner and following up when needed, proactively identifying suggestions for product and quality improvement, communicating them further in the ABB organization, providing recommendations to management to improve operations and customer service
- Providing technical specialist leadership and coordination for the service team, planning activities in a timely and cost-effective way, coordinating the work of internal and external technicians and assigning them specific tasks related to service needs and monitoring performance
- Working with account teams to identify opportunities in the installed base, working to reduce the cost and improving the quality of delivery of service and projects, assisting the sales departments with technical aspects (both product and process related) during the preparation of tenders
- Providing training and support to the customer/engineering team, providing sound engineering and designing input to projects and service by implementing QA procedures
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in HPR Applications
- Knowledge of electrical theory and systems in High Power Rectifier, knowledge of Aluminum Rectifiers, DC drives, DC Arc Furnace and transformers will be of advantage
- Good designing skills and problem solving abilities, commitment to excellence and professional attitude
- Preference will be given to EE candidates.
