What you’ll do:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, risks, etc.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support decision-making.
General Ledger Management:
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and provide regular updates to management.
- Collaborate with departments to develop realistic budgets aligned with strategic goals.
Financial Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Processing of Statutory work (VAT Recon, completing SARS E- filling and all VAT audit queries etc.)
- Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits.
Financial Operations Support:
- Support day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Streamline processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement best practices in financial management and reporting.
Fixed Assets:
- Maintaining fixed asset register and reconciliations.
- Assist with reconciliations pertaining to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Virtual Bank accounts, Bank account reconciliations, All clearing accounts.
- Successfully manage and lead personnel. Coaching, training and ensuring accurate and timely AR invoicing is non-negotiable.
Your expertise:
- Function related experience: 8 years in a similar role
- Strong skills with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Adept at using technology including a variety of software/online, analyse and record information.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Flexibility and adaptability
- An effective communicator (written and verbal)
- A ‘team player’ with the ability to work within a collaborative and ever-changing environment.
- Ability to manage quality deliverables with tight deadlines, pressurized environment.
- Good interpersonal skills
- Disciplined and self-motivated
- High degree of accuracy
Qualifications:
- Degree/Diploma in finance/accounting
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant professional certifications, such as CIMA, or similar
