- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Electrical)
- Strong analytical, leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
- Minimum Experience of 3-5 years in engineering Purchasing field within a mining environment
- Project Management experience of at least 3 years
- Service excellence, sound decision-maker, strong collaborator
- Analytical Skills: The ability to analyse data, understand quality metrics, and interpret technical
- documents, blueprints, and specifications are vital for identifying issues and making informed decisions
- Attention to Detail: Precision is key in quality control. Inspectors must meticulously examine products and processes to identify any deviations from specifications
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Outstanding initiative, drive, and resilience in activities to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to share appropriate messages with various
- levels of leadership as well as external parties
- Proactively communicate and collaborate within Project organization, functions (i.e. legal, controllers, etc), and Procurement category families to maximize commercial outcomes
- Analyse data on market intelligence from other internal groups and use results to optimize project execution strategies
- Buying—Commercial: equipment & material procurement, negotiation and influence, bid development and evaluation, supplier relationship management, procurement strategy development
- Musty have own transport
- Must be a legal South African Citizen
- Clear Criminal Record
Responsibilities
- Source and purchase a wide range of technical equipment and supplies
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and delivery terms
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Conduct market research to stay up to date on industry trends and developments
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including contracts and purchase orders
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and resolution of any issues that may arise
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and make recommendations for improvements
- Assist with the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures
- Will be expected to travel between sites and conduct Supplier visits
- Will be expected to conduct Supplier audits and quality inspections
- Conduct all work according to required standards and specifications.
