  • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Electrical)
  • Strong analytical, leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Minimum Experience of 3-5 years in engineering Purchasing field within a mining environment
  • Project Management experience of at least 3 years
  • Service excellence, sound decision-maker, strong collaborator
  • Analytical Skills: The ability to analyse data, understand quality metrics, and interpret technical
  • documents, blueprints, and specifications are vital for identifying issues and making informed decisions
  • Attention to Detail: Precision is key in quality control. Inspectors must meticulously examine products and processes to identify any deviations from specifications
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Outstanding initiative, drive, and resilience in activities to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to share appropriate messages with various
  • levels of leadership as well as external parties
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate within Project organization, functions (i.e. legal, controllers, etc), and Procurement category families to maximize commercial outcomes
  • Analyse data on market intelligence from other internal groups and use results to optimize project execution strategies
  • Buying—Commercial: equipment & material procurement, negotiation and influence, bid development and evaluation, supplier relationship management, procurement strategy development
  • Musty have own transport
  • Must be a legal South African Citizen
  • Clear Criminal Record

 Responsibilities

  • Source and purchase a wide range of technical equipment and supplies
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and delivery terms
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Conduct market research to stay up to date on industry trends and developments
  • Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including contracts and purchase orders
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and resolution of any issues that may arise
  • Conduct supplier performance evaluations and make recommendations for improvements
  • Assist with the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures
  • Will be expected to travel between sites and conduct Supplier visits
  • Will be expected to conduct Supplier audits and quality inspections
  • Conduct all work according to required standards and specifications.
