• Make sure chicks stacked in the take-off are comfortable at all times
• Make sure hatchers are checked and manage hatch window
• Ensure hatcher profiles are correct and followed as per protocol
• Make sure chicks stacked in the dispatch area are spaced out so that chicks are not overheating
• Make sure chick handling, chick grading, count, and vaccination procedure is adhered to and followed at all times
• Accurate daily record keeping of Vaccine stock count and signed off by Foreman or Manager
• Make sure the correct number of chicks are loaded
• Record cloaca temperature and chick length
• Capture and Update AFS system
• Make sure chick crates are clean and dry before processing
• Monitor Processing temperature
• Ensure that the chicks get to the water and feed quickly
• Ensure the chick truck is warm, clean, dry and that the fans are on before loading the truck
• Ensure the chick delivery notebook is filled in correctly with all information

Required minimum education:

• Grade 12 education
• Minimum of 3 years Hatchery experience
• Fluent in English and second official language
• Required minimum experience:
• Passionate, self-motivated and performance-driven.
• A team player with the ability to manage staff.
• Must be pro-active and able to work accurately and independently.
