Duties/Pligte
- Developing and implementing frameworks for the development, integration, standardisation, and review of HR strategies, policies, processes, and projects;
- Providing expert advice and support to the HR directorate team on the development of aligned, area-specific strategies and policies, ensuring proper alignment and framing of HR documents for governance structures;
- Applying a broad legal understanding in employment and labour law, regulatory compliance, and privacy to ensure compliance and a risk-based approach across the HR domain;
- Taking responsibility for tracking, monitoring, and reporting on the progress of HR policies, processes, and projects, ensuring timely completion and compliance;
- Leading the development and ongoing review of the annual HR Project Plan, including coordination of the audit plan where applicable, and producing reports as required;
- Conducting internal quality assurance of HR strategy, policy, procedure, process, and project documents and reports, including communication documents for governance submission;
- Designing and implementing communication frameworks for HR strategies, policies, and processes, and producing communication pieces and reports.
Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
Qualifications:
- At least an honours degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Management, or a related field;
- A relevant master’s degree (NQF 9), preferably in HR Management, Industrial Psychology, or a related discipline, would be highly desirable.
Experience:
- Ten to twelve years’ relevant experience, with at least three to five years in a managerial or strategic leadership position;
- Proven experience in the development and review of policies, procedures, and processes;
- Experience in working with governance processes;
- Track record of working cooperatively across functions managing conflicting demands, balancing interests of multiple stakeholders to achieve shared objectives and to fairly represent interests;
- Track record of conceptual thinking and meta-analysis, acquiring data from diverse sources to solve problems and effectively evaluate solution options;
- Proficiency in analysing, using, and presenting complex HR information in various formats to diverse audiences;
- Experience in planning and executing projects of varying sizes and complexity in a high-pressure environment.
Knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge of HR management frameworks, including organisational development, employee value proposition, employment relations, systems, audit, and governance;
- Broad legal understanding and comprehensive experience with current legislation, policies governing HR management practices, and industry best practices;
- Broad understanding of regulatory compliance and privacy laws, including data protection, health and safety, immigration, and intellectual property law;
- Risk management processes and frameworks.
