Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB

• To safely install electrode casings, thermo couple pipes and test for cracks on a belly belt. Manage stock levels of casings. 

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY

• Participate and comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)

CUSTOMERS 

• Ensure Customer Satisfaction
• Ensure proper communication with relevant parties when taking long slips
• Inhibit the travelling of selected electrode for casing installation 

BUSINESS PROCESSES 

Electrodes:

• Inspect electrode casings prior to offloading

Transportation:

• Transport the casings from the storage area to the casing floor

Stocks:

• Monitor casings, electrode thermo couple pipes and consumables for CO2 welding
• Store casings under a shelter to prevent rust

Reporting:

• Update the casing welding log sheets
• Installed casings to be properly labelled and signed off

Knowledge:

• Requirements

Minimum qualifications: 

• Grade 12 / N3
• 2 years’ relevant experience in welding and grinding
• CO2 Welding Certificate 
• Valid Driver’s Licence

Additional qualifications: 

• Manitou
• Hoist Certificate
