Marine and Canal Assistant needed at V&A Waterfront

The following job objectives were found to be relevant to this job:

Maintenance & Cleaning

• Receive and execute daily work schedule from supervisor / manager
• Maintenance of the marine, jetties, vessels, canal and related structures (Sweeper 2 & Beaver)
• Clean jetties berths, slips and all V&A Waterfront related property within the Marine and Canal
• Assist Contractors with V&A related maintenance, builds and repairs
• Identify and report maintenance, breaks and defects to relevant management when necessary
• Assist and support other Departments within the V&A precinct e.g. Cruise Terminal when necessary
• Adhere to all safety requirements at all times

Events & Special Project

• Assist with structure build up and breakdown when necessary (Land & Water)
• Adhere to all safety protocols at all times

Educational requirements relevant to this job:

• Grade 10
• Seafare Medical
• Safety at Sea Qualification
• First Aid Qualification

Experience relevant to this job:

• 5 years’ relevant experience in the Marine industry
