ROLE DESCRIPTION

An Accounts Clerk plays a vital role in the financial management of an organisation by performing various administrative and clerical tasks related to accounting and finance. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, handling payments, and assisting with other financial activities.

KEY REQUIREMENTS & ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

 Suppliers and Subcontractors

  • Add new supplier accounts on Intacct & FNB
  • Collect supplier sheets and BEE/payment documents and update Intacct
  • Call suppliers and subcontractors to verify bank
  • Keep Supplier BEE information up to date on Intacct
  • Allocate Supplier payments as per the remittance and reconcile debit orders to supplier statements and invoices
  • Send suppliers their payment remittances
  • Handle Supplier queries and manage subcontractors regarding documentation updates
  • Ensure that all relevant documentation is kept up to date on the Finance Drive and Intacct
  • Ad-hoc on requests

Cashbooks & Payments

  • Load all new recipients on FNB online
  • Capture cashbooks – Firm’s bank accounts
  • Cashbook recons – Firm’s bank accounts
  • Ensure that all cashbooks reconcile every month

Sundry

  • Process reconciliation correcting journals and any other additional journals
  • Assist auditors with queries at year end
  • Educate staff on processes and policies
  • Ad hoc requests as and when required
  • Assist with the preparation of month end balance sheet reconciliation
