Key Performance Areas:

Financial Planning, Forecasting and Budgeting:

  • Compile detailed budget per Campus per account after consultation with Management and detailed analysis of historical data
  • Assist and support Principals and Managers during the budget compilation process
  • Monitor and track performance and liaise with Principals in this regard
  • Conduct variance analysis and advise Principals and BFM accordingly
  • Undertake trend analysis, monthly highlighting areas of concern
  • Liaise with Group Shared Services(GSS) regarding revenue collection, outstanding payments and fixed assets

Financial/Management Accounting

  • Perform reconciliation of billing and payments received, monthly and annually
  • Balance and confirm inter-company loans
  • Provide financial support and guidance to Principals and the Brand Management team
  • Prepare GL recon of complex accounts as determined by the business
  • Review of all recons prepared by JBA or FA
  • Handle queries from Campus and interacts with GSS to resolve them
  • Financial/Management Reporting
  • Analyse financial performance of individual Campus
  • Collate and analyse financial performance information in respect of the Brand/brands
  • Prepare reports accurately and timeously monthly, quarterly and annually
  • Prepare cash flow, weekly and forward to BFM
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, meeting requisite deadlines
  • Prepare monthly MANCO report meeting requisite deadlines

Compliance

  • Ensure company financial policies and procedures are adhered to, at Campus and within Brand/Brands
  • Participate in the audit process (Internal and external) and provides relevant information and support to auditors as required. Deals with queries ,as necessary, and escalates matters when required
  • Carry out appropriate action to remedy audit findings and limit the risk
  • Provide Principals and relevant staff in Campus with required trained regarding financial policies and procedures
  • Sign off monthly audit files and ensure all month/year end journals are processed
  • Approve expenditure in line with authorisation matrix.
  • Ensure timeous submission of statutory returns for Brand/Brands
  • Identify and report on non-compliance across the Brand

Staff Management

  • Ensure the workflow is managed on a day two day basis and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ensure identification of critical skills essential for sustainability of service delivery to the brand
  • Ensure staff are adequately trained

Qualification Requirements:

  • Minimum – B. Com Financial Accounting 
  • Ideal – Honours / Post graduate degreed Financial Accounting 

Experience Requirements:

  • Financial & Management Accounting – year(s) 7years
  • Management of staff – year(s) 2 years

System Requirements:

  • Excel (Advanced)
  • D365 experience will be a plus
  • Excalibur
