ABOUT THE ROLE 

  • The Coaching team is responsible for providing high quality mentorship, workshops and high quality review/feedback on tasks submitted on our bootcamps. The broad objectives for the Coaching team are: 
  • To improve student progress and graduation rates
  • To support learners getting an interview for a role
  • To support learners in landing an employment outcome 
  • To improve the quality of mentorship and coaching for career progression and achieving their career milestones
  • Career coaching is when a coach and a HyperionDev learner/graduate work one-on-one to help reach career goals and full potential. Career coaches help with career planning, career changes, career advice, and other career decisions.
  • A career coach session will be unique and doesn’t have a one-size-fits-all job description, because a person’s career path is different and requires your personalised support. Therefore, it is important for this candidate to hold a strong proactive approach to problem solving.
  • A career coach helps our learners find the job they love, whether it is to  upskill or re-skill within their organisation or carving out an entirely new career path that aligns with the purpose of their work.

  • Navigate career transitions 
  • Assist those wanting to explore the self-employment route
  • Provide career advice
  • Help job seekers with job interview skills (including practising mock interviews) 
  • Assist with career planning
  • Help to set career goals and long-term professional goals 
  • Explore new career options and opportunities 
  • Advise on how to build your personal brand and reviewing of key profiles (CV, LinkedIn, Github)
  • Find work-life balance by setting boundaries and examining priorities 
  • Assist in the job search process 
  • Find footing in a new role or new job 
  • Explore ways to upskill or re skill in a current job 
  • Identify new strategies to enhance career development 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivery of career development learning and advisory services to ensure that graduates are technically ready and prepared to enter the job market. 
  • Offering 1:1 consultations and workshops with students to optimise their CV, LinkedIn profiles, GitHub portfolios (building their personal brand, supporting in their job search and interview preparation. 
  • Facilitate mock interviews with graduates to practise their interview skills.
  • Provide high quality review/feedback on tasks submitted on our bootcamp dashboards related to Career Services.
  • Providing access to bespoke career development resources that support graduates in honing their professional profiles and portfolios.
  • Encourage students to create side-projects to fill the non-experience barrier.
  • Actively driving and tracking of graduate outcomes and milestones
  • Regularly interact with learners using available communication platforms. 
  • Assist with interview scheduling and candidate availability through the hiring companies’ recruitment process.
  • Providing excellent up to date record keeping using the data platforms that are available for student information updates
  • Manage our applicant talent leads database accurately and efficiently to ensure a healthy pipeline and promotion of talent profiles to our employer partners and for vacant roles.
  • Promoting of job opportunities to unemployed students
  • Support and drive effective marketing initiatives for placing our graduates, provide feedback on lead quality and engagement ratio, and assist with the market segmentation and targeting strategy by providing feedback on most likely to convert hiring company profiles.

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum

  • At least 2+ years of interviewing experience in an agency or inhouse recruitment, or HR role with talent or recruitment responsibilities.
  • At least 2+ years recent and relevant experience in Careers-related Advising, coaching and mentorship in Higher Education or in a comparable role advising graduates seeking formal employment (HR Talent-role)
  • Experience working under pressure with strict targets showing initiative and the ability to multi-task
  • Understanding of the technical recruitment market 
  • Outstanding reporting skills and experience with CRMs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Skilled in working with virtual tools for effective education and communication purposes.
  • Fast learner, meticulous attention to detail and experience working with data and delivering reports.
  • Client relationship and candidate management skills
  • Proven computer literacy and comfort with creating and working on G-suite applications and project management tools.
  • Development, planning, facilitation and hosting of events
  • Experience in skills development workshops

Preferred 

  • A relevant tertiary qualification would be preferred 
  • Prior tech startup experience in a high-growth and ambitious environment
  • At least 1 year experience with email automation and campaign outreach
  • Experience with lead generation and market research for business development
  • Interest / experience in the coding education and ed-tech space
  • Understanding of International technical recruitment environments
