Job Description
- Our company is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Management Accountant with experience in FMCG to join our team, based at our offices in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial analysis and forecasting for the commercial aspects of our business. You will work closely with the sales, marketing, and operations teams to provide critical financial insights and analysis to support decision-making and drive profitable growth
Required Skills
- BComm Accounting Degree - CIMA or CA(SA) would be advantageous
- 4-6 years of financial analysis experience in the FMCG industry
- Experience with ERP systems and financial planning software. Excel, PowerPoint & PowerBI is non-negotiable
- Fast learning for new tools (Specific tools used for reporting)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Strong analytical skills and experience developing financial models
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Customer oriented, assertiveness and problem-solving skills
- Result driven, business acumen and good decision-making as well as strong leadership skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Willingness to embrace and drive positive change in the organisation.
- Willingness to work long hours producing exceptional results while working under pressure.
- Travel to the AA countries as determined by manager
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee financial planning and analysis for the commercial aspects of the business, including sales, marketing, and operations.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support business decision-making, including pricing, promotions, and new product launches.
- Provide analysis and insights into customer and product profitability, identifying opportunities to optimize revenue and profitability.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop pricing strategies and promotions that align with business objectives and maximize profitability.
- Monitor performance against financial targets and provide regular updates to senior management on key performance indicators.
- Provide financial support for strategic planning and business development initiatives.
- Manage the budgeting and forecasting process for the commercial aspects of the business, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives.
- Assist with the consolidation of the budget and ensure variances are explainable on all the areas.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. Support in balance sheet reconciliations on monthly basis. Reconcile the P&L Variances Vs. Budget and Last Year.
- Manage all processes to ensure tight deadlines are met for both local and corporate submissions.
