Within this role, you’ll have a comprehensive scope, overseeing credit activities across the client portfolio. You’ll lead the Credit Analyst and other risk teams, ensuring robust credit analysis and preparation of credit applications for facility adjustments. Collaborating with stakeholders, you’ll present well-considered credit recommendations to committees, contributing to effective risk management and business strategies. Key qualifications of the credit manager:

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance, Accounting or higher preferred
  • 3+ years of lending or credit experience required
  • Sound credit analysis experience required
  • Commercial legal knowledge preferred

Key duties for the Credit Manager include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct detailed credit analysis covering financial, operational, collateral, shareholder, and industry aspects
  • Prepare credit papers for client facility adjustments and covenant breaches
  • Present requests to the board and Group credit committees
  • Engage continuously with clients for monitoring, identify credit stress, and assist in recoveries, while ensuring compliance and collaborating with stakeholders to manage credit risk effectively.
  • Proficient in banking business and product knowledge
  • Strong analytical skills including financial statement analysis and understanding of IFRS
  • Comprehensive grasp of credit principles and lending processes
  • Knowledgeable about various industries and macroeconomic factors impacting clients
  • Familiarity with commercial legal aspects such as insolvency, collateral, and deal structures
  • Understanding of Basel and AIRB Capital frameworks, coupled with financial modelling and forecasting abilities
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and CGIC insurance cover understanding
