Key duties and responsililities:

  • Annual formulation of the Multi-Sectoral District Implementation Plan (MDIP) for HIV, TB and STI, Annual Performance Plan and Operational Plans with all stakeholders in line with the Provincial and National Strategic Plan (NSP 2023 – 2028).
  • Plan, organize, lead and co-ordinate the multi-sectoral response to the epidemic control HIV, AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Diseases and TB (HAST) activities in line with the National, Provincial and the City of Johannesburg policies, protocols and guidelines within the City.
  • Mobilize, coordinate and evaluate the activities of the sectors and departments in response to the epidemic in relation to the MDIP.
  • Support the political office in the re-establishment of the Johannesburg AIDS Council (JAC) and the implementation of the JAC Activities.
  • Formulation, coordination, implementation and evaluation of the annual agenda of the JAC in liaison with the MMC for Health and Social Development.
  • Support and monitor the implementation of MDIP at Regional
  • Motivate and manage operational resources for the implementation of the MDIP including human
  • Assist in the implementation of the core governmental policies in line with National strategic Plan for HIV, TB & STIs 2023 – 2028.
  • Evaluating and commenting on the applicability of specific performance indicators and measures against outcomes detailed in the business and strategic plans.
  • Support the development of a budget for the multi-sectoral unit, report on expenditure; ensure financial management, budgeting and forecasting of the Multi Sectoral Unit.
  • Monitor and evaluate the activities of sectors and Departments in relation to the MDIP and the community response to the epidemic, and write reports.

Minimum qualification and experience

  • Social Sciences/ Health Information Sciences /Health Related Degree/Public Relations degree
  • At least 5-10 years experience working in the health sector on HIV/TB and STI response in collaboration with Government, Private, Civil Society Sectors, and NGOs including Local Development Partners/ Agencies, and have a good understanding of the mainstreaming of Multisectoral HIV/TB & STI response at National, Provincial and District levels.
  • At least three (3) years’ experience working in technical leadership, oversights, design, andof HIV/TB & STI programmes
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and leadership in programme management, strategic planning, and policy experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client liaison management skills
  • Good facilitation and communication (both verbal and written)
  • Excellent Analytical and reporting skills
  • Proactive and problem resolution Skills
  • General and financial management skills
  • Demonstrated openness and flexibility in responding to changing work priorities and environment.
