Requirements
Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience
- University degree in a related field and postgraduate degree in Public Health with a relevant minimum 5 -years’ work experience.
- Experience in working with the International Health regulations would be an added advantage.
Key Performance Area
Management of Stakeholder Relations
- Establish and foster relationships with the Zoonotic Diseases/One Health team and NDOH teams and maintain a roster of experts.
- Coordinate Zoonotic Diseases/One Health activities among the various teams and the NDOH.
Planning and Coordination
- Provide secretariat and technical duties to the Zoonotic Diseases/One Health team.
- Facilitate drafting of the National One Health Strategy.
- Assist the Zoonotic Diseases/One Health team in the creation of workplans and ensure that the plans are updated on a monthly basis.
- Work with the various Zoonotic Diseases/One Health workstreams to implement workplan activities.
- Implement and monitor the International Health Regulations (IHR) and the National Action Plan for Health Security (NAPHS).
- Support the electronic State Party Annual Report (eSPAR) activities.
- Ensure sign off of all relevant documents take place including the sign off of all deliverables and milestone.
- Plan, organise, facilitate and support working group meetings and workshops.
- Booking and preparation for the meetings, planning sessions, scoping sessions and other meetings that are required by the Zoonotic Diseases/One Health team.
- Identify possible opportunities for improvement of the Zoonotic Diseases/One Health plan implementation processes.
- Ensure deadlines are met.
Administration and Operations
- Update/develop effective Zoonotic Diseases/One Health operational processes including stakeholder management & communication.
- Ensure high quality and timely reporting of essential activities.
- Provide administrative support including scheduling meetings, drafting of minutes, monitoring and documentation of activities, and stakeholder management.
- Notifying all relevant parties of upcoming meetings and workshops via minutes and meeting notifications.
- Distributing relevant documentation to all relevant stakeholders before the meeting.
- Contribute to the documentation and sharing of knowledge within the Zoonotic Diseases/One Health team.
Program Technical Output
- Attend relevant meetings to compile technical minutes and action lists.
- Support development of relevant evidence-based health policies.
- Support the gathering of evidence for recommendation and drafting of advisories to the Minister of Health, senior management, and the public.
- Prepare a briefing for the NDOH that summarizes the Zoonotic Diseases/One Health status.
