Diesel Mechanic (Richardsbay) needed at Afrimat

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

• Grade 12 certificate
• Qualified Diesel Mechanic
• 2 3 years of experience as an underground Mechanic Assistant in coal mine
• Valid Driver’s License
• Knowledge of tools and lubrication processes
• Willing to travel for work purposes
• Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Maintain professional workmanship standards at all times
• Strictly adhere to applicable quality assurance processes & procedures
• Repair earthmoving equipment as well as delivery truck fleet within specification and agreed repair times
• Ensure complete, accurate and timeous job card feedback and repair reports are maintained
• Conduct troubleshooting, fault diagnosis and maintenance of earthmoving equipment and delivery truck fleet
• Perform machine inspections on earthmoving equipment and delivery truck fleet as well as compile backlog lists
• Supervise assistants to carry out first line of maintenance tasks
• Pro actively support & participate in safety & work practice related initiatives
• Managing & maintaining tooling in good, serviceable condition
• To work overtime when required, provided such requirement is reasonable and within the law
