Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Competencies:
- Matric / Grade 12.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Technical/Core Training: Valid Excavator Competency Certificate.
- 2 years’ + experience in a mining environment.
- Ability to distinguish between back up alarms, voices, and other normal sounds consistent with construction job sites.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Must be medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act and the Company standards for medical fitness.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safe operation of excavator inside mining area.
- Handling and / or moving of material.
- Effectively communicate with all site personnel.
- Daily pre-start inspections on excavator.
- Reporting of any breakdowns / defects.
- Keep the machine clean.
