REIMBURSEMENT FOR SERVICES: OFFICERS WILL BE REIMBURSED AS FOLLOWS:
- The Inspection Officer will be reimbursed for performing each inspection on a prorated basis.
REQUIREMENTS:
- have a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent;
- be registered with SAPC as a pharmacist;
- be compliant with CPD requirements;
- have sound working knowledge of the Rules relating to Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) and other Pharmacy related legislation;
- minimum of five years’ experience as a practising pharmacist; and
- experience in both Manufacturing and Wholesale pharmacy would serve as a strong recommendation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
To conduct the following types of inspections:
- Monitoring inspections – for the purpose of monitoring compliance to Good Pharmacy Practice standards;
- Training inspections – for the purpose of training interns and pharmacy support personnel;
- New premises inspections – for the purpose of determining compliance to the GPP requirements relating to the licensing of a pharmacy;
- Disciplinary inspections – for the purpose of investigating professional conduct complaints; and
- Follow-up inspections – for the purpose of ensuring that corrective action has been implemented following disciplinary inspection or monitoring inspection.
