Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve targets and expand market share.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including prospecting and lead generation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of projects and delivery of products/services.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Familiarize yourself with different types of steel, their properties, uses, and manufacturing processes. This includes understanding steel grades, alloys, and production methods.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Key accounts management.
  • Sales planning.
  • Prepare quotations.
  • Processing of invoices
  • Assist in tender processing.
  • Answering incoming calls and converting enquiries into sales.
  • Following up on leads.
  • Costumers to be contacted monthly by the internal salesperson.
  • Handling customers complaints and enquiries.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in sales, preferably in the steel industry or related field.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Pastel software and sales analytics tools is a plus.
  • National Senior Certificate (math’s as a subject)
  • Preferably an undergraduate degree or diploma
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge of structural steel.
  • Own mode of transport to the company
  • Good communication skills
