RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT LIMITED TO THE BELOW)

  • Plan, prepare and manage all project resources.
  • Supervise on-site team.
  • Ensure project targets are met.
  • Perform site inspections daily.
  • Liaise with departments regarding metal processing after material has been dismantled.
  • Liaise with clients on the progress of sites.
  • Ensure site has necessary consumable and manage consumables effectively.
  • Perform site inspections as and when needed.
  • Perform on site assessment for potential work and supply costings to management.
  • Ensures resources are used effectively so that maximum productivity is achieved.
  • Ensure that correct standard operating procedures are adhered to.
  • Manage all administrative processes as required.
  • Submit progress reports to management.
  • Attends meetings (Safety & Production).
  • Manage timesheet and attendance records.
  • Motivates team.
  • Ensure that all machinery and equipment are checked to be safe and in good working order.
  • Report all faults to the necessary departments.
  • Identifying the need for preventative maintenance of the machines within the department.
  • Liaise with SA Metal safety department in compiling site safety files.
  • Managing site safety files on project sites.
  • Working close with customer safety department to ensure all customers site safety rules and regulations are adhered to.
  • Ensure staff adhere to Health and Safety regulations.
  • Facilitates Health & Safety Toolbox Talks.
  • Ensures that all Employees’ Written Task Procedures are up to date and that they have been explained by the Manager and that employee understands the contents thereof.
  • PPE – Ensure that all PPE regulations are adhered to before work begins.
  • Adheres to Health & Safety Regulations in terms of the Safety file for the department.

QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience
  • 2-3 Project Management experience
  • Code 10 Drivers’ License with PDP is essential.
  • Knowledge of maintenance planning
  • Previous demolition experience is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of production planning.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
  • Willingness to work overtime and night shift as and when required.
  • Previous experience in a physically demanding mining or production working environment would be advantageous.
