Job Description    
We are looking for a Maintenance Engineering Manager to define and implement an asset care strategy for Sunbake.

  • The purpose of the role is to define, implement, audit and continuously improve the asset care principles used to optimise manufacturing capacity, improve the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of the bakeries and to optimise engineering and maintenance resources to improve business profitability.

Minimum Requirements    
Eudcation/Qualifcations: 

  • Qualified Artisan.
  • Production and/or Engineering Qualification.
  • Plant Baking Qualification.

Knowledge:

  • The bakery industry and bakery manufacturing processes.
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Bakery technology – bread and rolls and buns.
  • Food safety and Quality Management Systems.
  • Safety, Health and the Environment Systems.
  • Project Management.
  • Process Improvement and Training.
  • Coaching and mentoring.
  • Product innovation.
  • Regulatory and audit processes and compliance.
  • Recent laws and regulations.
  • Organisational processes.

Duties & Responsibilities    

  • Asset Care Strategy: Review legislation, standards, and best practices for bakery asset care.
  • Asset Care Policy: Define policy with objectives, methodology, metrics, and review mechanisms.
  • Asset Care Methodology: Implement planned preventative maintenance, optimize asset performance, and manage disposal.
  • Technology Landscape & Supplier Management: Maintain supplier repository, stay updated on technology, and uphold supplier relationships.
  • Maintenance Projects: Plan and manage projects for efficiency and safety, ensuring adherence to standards.
  • Auditing and Training: Implement auditing process, conduct monthly audits, and provide training and coaching.
  • Bakery Visitation: Regular visits for audits, training, and project leadership.
  • Safety, Health, Environment, and Risk Management: Ensure compliance and manage risk effectively.
  • Food Safety and Quality Management: Maintain engineering practices in line with food safety standards.
  • Maintenance Support to Other Functions: Assist manufacturing teams, support process optimization, and aid in new product development.
  • Financial Management: Budgeting, cost control, and financial justification of projects.
  • Contract Management: Manage contracts with service level agreements, ensuring optimized costs and services.
