Job Advert Summary
- Macsteel Fluid Control is seeking an experienced and driven Maintenance Planner to join their Gauteng operations. This is a hands-on planning role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong production planning background.
- You will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient manufacturing operations by managing production schedules, coordinating resources, and resolving production challenges timeously. Working closely with multiple departments, you will play a key role in keeping production on track while continuously looking for ways to improve processes and reduce costs.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum NQF Level 4 - 5 Grade 12
- Certificate in Supply Chain Management, Production Management, or related field is advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years planning experience in Production Planning Essential
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in English
- Computer literate – preparing excel spreadsheet, detailing product in the plant.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of the tube material will be an advantage
- Must be prepared to work overtime if required
- Knowledge of SAP essential.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage manufacturing requirements through the effective management of planned and released orders from MRP.
- Evaluating purchase orders to create suitable production schedules.
- Estimating the amount of material, equipment, and labor required for production.
- Promptly addressing and resolving production issues to minimize delays in production.
- Coordinate production operations in accordance with material, labor, and equipment availability.
- Recommend viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality.
- Effecting changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met.
- Compile and submit status and performance reports to management in a timely manner.
- Promptly inform the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules.
- Data capturing of all daily production returns
- Transfer / movement of material to the correct warehouse / next process using internal system.
- General office administration and any routine planning required.
