Position Purpose

  • To take overall responsibility for Ship Repair & Dry Dock Operations so that the TNPA complies with all Marine related legislation and realize their return on investment.
  • To ensure the strategic growth of the ship repair Business in the port of Durban.

Position Outputs

  •  Manage all operations at Dry Dock workshop and Dry Dock operations.
  • Budget expected income and expenditure for all businesses.
  •  Ensure that maintenance at all facilities is planned and carried out.
  •  Ensure that resources are available for maintenance.
  •  Plan strategic goals for the business.
  •  Maintain a competitive business culture.
  •  Monitor deviations from strategic direction and create corrective actions.
  •  Ensure that strategic targets are met on time.
  •  Develop and approve new business procedures geared towards maintaining a competitive business culture.
  •  Organise and control plans and procedures designed to meet targets.
  • Organise and control staff, equipment and capital requirements for the business.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualifications & Experience:
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree /Electrical Engineering Degree/  
  • Industrial Engineering Degree  
  • Management Qualification/s Minimum Years and Relevant Experience:
  • 7 Technical Experience.
  • 5 years in Technical / Engineering environment in management
  • Proven management ability Added Advantage.
  • Business Management Qualification
