Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Registered Nurse license.
  • Minimum of three years in a nursing role, with previous experience in a Doctor’s practice advantageous.
  • Experience in an ICU environment is highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with GoodX software preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Medical management of all in and out-patients.
  • Monitor, coordinate, and implement patient treatment plans (clinical assessment and clerking).
  • Ensuring that treatment plans are executed by Hospital Nursing Staff (in-patients).
  • Patient education and support on the diagnoses/ prognoses. Providing guidance and assistance on treatment plans, and regular check-ins with patients’ regarding health status and wellbeing.
  • Post hospitalisation check-ins. Taking responsibility for directing patient care within the Practice.
  • Management and identification of ‘red flags’ in the medical results (pathology, radiology, and any other diagnostic test results) of patients and notification to Doctor.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and industry standards related to patient care.
  • Implementing and ensuring compliance with standards of nursing practice which promotes health care delivery.
  • Identifying and responding promptly and appropriately to legal or risk management patient care issues.
  • Supporting Doctor during all hospital ward rounds by capturing and scanning all patient notes (ward charts, clerking sheets, Dr notes).
  • Responsible for daily liaison and provision of feedback on patient condition and progress to family member/s of the patient.
  • Mitigation any risk(s) in terms of patient care satisfaction.
  • Serve as a senior member of the team and act as a facilitator among administrative and clinical staff.
  • Medical consumable stock management for nursing station as well as Dr examination room.
  • Assisting Dr with administrative duties – medical insurance claim forms, chronic illness applications, letters of motivation, preparation of prescriptions, death certificate preparation.
  • Management of infection control in the practice. Implementation of infection control protocols and safety standards in the practice.
  • Staying up-to date with new medicine regimens and medicines released on the market.
