Core responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of products in a safe way at various stages of production to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform audits and participate in testing on finished products, ensuring they meet customer requirements, performance parameters and regulatory guidelines.
  • Document audit findings, create detailed reports and communicate the findings to peers and assembly teams.
  • Collaborate with assembly teams on corrective actions to be taken to address non-conformance issues and ensure no defects are passed on to customers.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results, audit reports, and other relevant documentation and ensure regular review meetings are happening to establish root cause and impart “lessons learnt” from audit findings.
  • Provide feedback on product quality trends and plan training on identified areas for improvement in turn reducing audit points.
  • Regularly update audit checklists based on customer feedback/complaints and invite experts from Customer Centres/Parts and Service Departments/Global team and R&D team to upgrade yourself and auditing process.
  • Investigate product defects, identify root causes, and collaborate with relevant departments to develop corrective and preventive actions.
  • Customer, CC and supplier visits to address and understand issues.
  • Stay up to date with changes in industry standards and regulations, implementing necessary changes to processes and procedures.
  • Be part of the final sign-off on MOL (machines on-line)
  • Be involved in the continuous improvement of products.
  • Ensure that laid down systems as per Quality standards are being followed in your work area and provide support with, SHE activities. 

Competences, skills and experience

  • Must be a qualified artisan in one of the following fields:
  • Millwright/Electrician with mechanical experience/Mechanical with electrical experience.
  • Experienced with trackless mining equipment.
  • Be well versed in product application and customer expectation.
  • Extensive knowledge about machine working environment and operation.

Personality

  • Have a customer orientated approach. Good understanding of quality and delivery commitments.
  • Be flexible in understanding the “sense of urgency” to complete audits in a timely manner. Be on top of open customer issues and follow up with concerned team members for resolution. Promote and live a safety-first culture. Be vigilant in early detection of errors while the assembly is in progress.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to write clear reports and interact with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis, problem-solving techniques, and corrective action processes.
