Rock Drill Operator (B1) (Engineering South) Job at Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine

• The successful applicant will report to the Team Leader or nominee.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 10 / Standard 8 Certificate.
• Competent B Certificate.

EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

• Completion of a relevant, approved training programme.
• 1 year practical experience as the Rock Drill Operator.
• Advantageous: 6 months practical underground mining experience.

DUTIES (including but not limited to):

• Drill anchor holes required for anchoring of belt structures and equipment.
• Drill anchor holes in foot wall to secure belt structures/tips, etc., according to schedule. Anchoring of winches.
• Drilling, installation, tensioning and grouting of anchor bolts.
• Handling and care of drilling machine and accessories. i.e., thrustle and airleg. Ensure clean and safe.
