Requirements:
- Degree in Communication/Marketing/Journalism or equivalent (NQF 7)
- 10 years experience in marketing, corporate communications, planning, stakeholder management and media relations,
- 5 years at management level.
- Valid unendorsed driver’s license
Preferred Qualification:
- Honours or Post-Graduate Degree in Communication/ Marketing/ Journalism or equivalent (NQF 8)
Key Outputs:
Reporting to the Manager Office of the Chief Executive, the employee will:
- Develop, manage and execute integrated communications
- Develop an integrated marketing and communications strategy for the organisation with appropriate plans, policies and procedures
- Coordinate marketing and communication programmes across the organisation
- Provide strategic support in all marketing and communication related matters
- Develop, manage and execute effective media relations
- Ability to network extensively with political and business leaders
- Develop the media relations strategy, policy and programmes
- Act as the spokesperson and key media liaison for Amatola Water
- Facilitate development of appropriate responses to media enquiries
- Develop, manage and coordinate the production of corporate publications
- Conceptualise and lead the development, production, printing and distribution of internal and external publications, including print and electronic media – items such as Newsletters, the Integrated Annual Report and Business Plan
- Identify appropriate and effective supplementary communication channels to maximise the dissemination of corporate communication
- Develop, manage and coordinate the organisation’s public relations initiatives
- Lead all public relations activities including community engagements and public awareness programmes.
- Conceptualise and manage all Amatola Water internal events
- Develop, manage and coordinate all Web and Social Media activities
- Develop and manage the organisation’s web and social media activities and platforms, such as: Website, Intranet, Social media pages
- Manage the organisation’s Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives Intranet
- Manage financial resources
- Maintain and improve motivation and performance of staff to achieve maximum productivity
Other requirements:
- Business acumen and a broad understanding of all facets of marketing and communications
- Project management (events/ exhibitions, etc.)
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills including editing experience
- Printing and publishing technical knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal skills
