Requirements

  •  B Tech or first Degree in relevant fields;
  •  A post graduate Diploma in e.g. Curatorship, Heritage,
  •  Exhibition development, will be advantageous;

 Minimum 5 years relevant experience in:

  •   Hosting of history/heritage and cultural education, training and  capacity building programmes;
  •   Exhibition research and development;
  •   Resource and marketing materials development;
  •   Coordinate and hosting of history/heritage and cultural events and  campaigns;
  •   Monitoring and evaluation;
  •   Stakeholder management;
  •   Budgeting and procurement; and
  •   Staff mentoring and management.

Must have:

  •   EB Driver’s license
  •   Computer literacy (Microsoft packages, Adobe, etc.)
  •   Willingness to work outside normal working hours.

Key Performance Areas

  •  Applies heritage/cultural/historical/environmental capacity building and education concepts and theoretical knowledge under the guidance of a manager according to predefined procedures, processes and standard practices;
  •  Initiates, motivates and manages environmental and heritage projects and programmes related to education;
  •  Manage and/or assist with the development of appropriate education materials, lesson plans and activities;
  •  Manage and/or assist with the development of exhibitions, marketing materials, website updates and media releases;
  •  Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness, quality and success of education programmes and exhibitions;
  •  Communicating professional knowledge of the functional area as well as results of environmental research to internal and external clients;
  •  Initiate and facilitate ongoing communication and relationship management with external and internal stakeholders;
  •  Manage functional administrative processes and systems and handling of routine correspondence and enquiries;
  •  Lead, direct and manage staff, as well as graduate interns, students and volunteers;
  •  Develop heritage education/training programmes, lessons, activities, exhibitions, related resource development and coordination of environmental and heritage programmes,
  •  projects, workshops, events and campaign. Stakeholder management; and
  •  Manage budgets, assets, staff, procurement, administrative functions, and operational requirements.
