About the role

  • The Supply Chain Analytics Lead is responsible for driving continuous improvement across the Supply Chain by delivering fit-for-purpose and cost-effective analytics solutions.
  • This role acts as the custodian of Supply Chain data sets, ensuring accurate reporting and analysis to support data-driven decision-making.
  • The incumbent works closely with various Supply Chain and business stakeholders to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and optimize performance, enabling the business to meet its strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

  • Continuous Improvement & Efficiency Optimisation: Identify opportunities for process, system, and reporting improvements to enhance Supply Chain efficiency and performance, focusing on delivering actionable insights.
  • Data Custodianship & Reporting: Own and manage Supply Chain data sets, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and timely reporting for business-critical functions, including Order-to-Cash, inventory, and service metrics.  Once reliable QSC data lake is in place, the incumbent would be responsible for Data Governance of South African data and would need to collaborate with the QSC Data Hub Team on a regular basis.
  • Analytics Solutions Development: Develop and deploy scalable analytics solutions using advanced tools (e.g., SAP, Power BI) to provide visibility into key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends across the Supply Chain.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders (Sales, Finance, Supply Chain) and external logistics providers to gather, analyse, and interpret data, providing tailored reporting solutions that support business objectives.
  • Cost-Effective Decision Support: Use analytics to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, ensuring that Supply Chain operations are both efficient and aligned with financial goals.
  • KPI & Performance Management: Monitor and report on Supply Chain performance, tracking KPIs such as OTIF (On-Time In-Full) to provide insights that drive continuous improvement.
  • Master Data Quality: Identify data anomalies in customer, pricing, and product master data, working with relevant teams to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Inventory Analysis & Optimisation: Perform routine inventory analyses and support Supply Chain optimisation projects, such as warehouse slotting and route planning, to ensure effective inventory management.
  • Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure all reporting adheres to compliance and quality standards, providing necessary documentation for audit and regulatory purposes.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Provide critical data and insights to support cross-functional teams, including Customer Service, helping to improve customer satisfaction and streamline operations.

Qualifications and skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Supply Chain operations, preferably in FMCG or a related industry.

Preferred 

  • Honours degree in Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Other Skills/Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of data analytics tools, including Power BI and others.
  • Detailed knowledge of data landscaping and associated technologies.
  • Working knowledge of SAP in the Order to Cash Workstream is required.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and forecasting tools and ability to develop actionable insights from data is required.
  • Problem solving will be required daily to resolve customer issues that will most often be of a complex nature.  The incumbent will be required to work through datasets in various unfamiliar formats to extract the meaningful data with which they will need to work.
  • Understanding of business environment and ability to manage Supply Chain issues with the Sales team and customers.
  • Possess an outstanding ability to navigate organisational complexities.
