Key outputs
- Using appropriate welding techniques and tooling to maintain and repair earthmoving equipment and components to OEM standards and customer requirements
- Do cutting and profile cutting with oxy-acetylene cutting process
- Remove portions of components (i.e. remove adaptor from cutting edge) with air-arc gouging process
- Provide sound welds in gas-metal arc (CO2) and shield metal arc (stick) welding in the 6G positions
- Assemble components such as Shipping Stands, Frames covers dimensionally correct as per OEM drawings
- Use correct tooling to repair broken and bent components
- Effective self-management and performance ownership
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
- Grade 12
- Qualified in relevant trade (Boilermaker)
- Minimum 2 years work experience after qualification (Post apprenticeship)
- Medically fit for the position
- Drivers licence – Code B
- Spatial visualisation (linked to assembling)
- Mechanical ability
- Hand-eye coordination (Aiming)
- Teamwork
