Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Coordinate community forums and represent the operation
  • Collate information from business partners
  • Update and monitor the targets
  • Monitor implementation of LED projects
  • Ensure that the progress of projects is communicated to all relevant stakeholders
  • Identify, communicate, and monitor the mine social risks, Voluntary Principles and Human Rights risks
  • Manage satisfactory close out of community complaints at the operation
  • Assist with the planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating of activities of the community development programs
  • Assist with the review and administration of CSI requests, site visits to confirm CSI requests and needs, submission and reporting to the CSI Governance Committee
  • Community development administrative support: Scheduling meetings, process invoices, orders, and other administrative duties to support the team
  • Assist in embedding Seriti Brand and vision in the community
  • Assist in the coordination and submission of stakeholder engagement reports, commitment registers and other related community development reports as and when required
  • Participate in all internal and external regularity inspections and audits relating to community / enterprise development
  • Assist in the implementation and coordination of Social Labour Plan (SLP) Commitments
  • Coordinate the Future Forums with all relevant stakeholders
  • Manage complaints and resolve conflict within the communities / stakeholders
  • Identify community development training and mentorship needs
  • Liaise with stakeholders to carry out community projects

Requirements:

  • Advanced Certificate or Diploma in Social Sciences, Public Relations (NQF Level 6)
  • Minimum 1 year experience in Community Development or a similar role in social performance field
  • Experience in dealing with communities
  • Thorough understanding of local communities
  • Basic knowledge of mining and other relevant legislation applicable to mining
  • Understanding of mining industry and internal and external stakeholders or key role players
  • Basic knowledge of the BBBEE Code of Good Practices and Mining Charter
  • Good knowledge of community structures
  • Knowledge of Policies relating to social performance, DMR reports formats, local development plans & integrated development plans, SLP and existing community engagement plans and corporate governance
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • In possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness
