Your role will be broad, and at times deep, but you can expect to primarily be responsible for:

  • Working very closely with the Founders to constantly refine the Jem brand, value proposition, narrative and visual identity
  • Building and executing on a combination of Inbound Lead Generation and Account Based Marketing strategies that capture interest, nurture and ultimately convert leads in our ideal customer profiles
  • Bringing content across social media, video, long form blog, thought leadership, web and display advertising to life with a combination of in-house and freelance creatives
  • Creating, testing, and iterating marketing campaigns at the top and bottom of the funnel – with a focus on Google Ads, Meta Ads, Programmatic Display and LinkedIn
  • Nurturing the early Jem community of customers and prospects, executing eventing and relationship building activities that turn customers into advocates
  • Working with Product, Sales and Customer Success to develop and constantly refine sales and support enablement material
  • Building a team.

More about You

  • Working at an early-stage startup is a different beast. If you are used to predictability, clearly established processes and working with big budgets and big agencies, this is not the role for you. If your first step in solving any problem is writing a brief for someone else to do the work, this is not the role for you. You need to be scrappy, a jack-of-all-trades and someone who gets their hands dirty. Specifically, you should possess the following experience, skills and talents:
  • You have worked as the first (or very early) marketer at an early-stage B2B startup before, and have grown it successfully into a 3-10 person team
  • You don’t have to Google the terms “Account Based Marketing” and “Inbound Marketing”. You have experience in developing ABM and Inbound strategies that have successfully nurtured and converted leads at scale
  • You know how to work with small budgets and small teams. Seeing these constraints as freeing, and an opportunity to be innovative and experiment quickly
  • You are as comfortable working with creatives to develop content that sticks out in the sea of sameness, as you are deep in Google Analytics data
  • You have significant experience running highly personalised and targeted paid media experiments and campaigns across Meta, Google and LinkedIn
  • Collaboration is central to everything you do, and you defer to an open, collaborative way of working with zero ego
  • You are an effective recruiter, team builder and natural leader
