KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance with purchasing processes, policies, and statutory requirements.
  • Review and analyze purchase requisitions for appropriate sourcing of stock and non-stock items.
  • Compile and issue RFx (Request for Proposal, Request for Quotation, etc.).
  • Manage end-to-end sourcing events.
  • Evaluate supplier quotes, negotiate pricing and payment terms, and provide recommendations.
  • Place orders, track deliveries, and maintain system information.
  • Assess supplier performance and recommend improvements.
  • Manage and maintain vendor master data, including supplier onboarding and updates.
  • Ensure suppliers comply with approved quality specifications.
  • Collaborate with site managers to ensure items meet quality standards for acceptance.
  • Monitor and report supplier performance and KPIs.
  • Collect and report financial performance data, including tracking target savings and inclusive procurement.
  • Achieve and report on agreed KPIs.
  • Comply with and promote site safety rules for suppliers and visitors.
  • Actively participate in site safety initiatives and commit to personal safety improvements.
  • Engage stakeholders effectively and contribute to continual improvement initiatives.
  • Support sustainable development objectives and health & safety commitments.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as required by management.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Commerce.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in sourcing and purchasing within Mining or Manufacturing industries.
  • At least 2 years of strategic sourcing experience.
  • Experience in inclusive procurement, including working with host community businesses.
  • SAP experience is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with B-BBEE reporting under the Codes of Good Practice and Mining Charter reporting is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in sourcing and purchasing within a global company (4+ years).
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Experience in working closely with suppliers.
  • Intermediate Excel proficiency.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to own transport.
  • Domestic travel: 20%
