Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • The Sales engineer  reports to the Sale Manager and is responsible for providing product, service equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests . Establishes new accounts and services accounts by identifying potential customers and planning and organizing sales call schedule  driving  sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and building a strong relationships with customers.

Job Role

The Sales Engineer is responsible for the application of

  • Ensure 90% of existing business is retained
  • Market share is increased by obtaining new business
  • Monthly and annual sales budget is met
  • Products and services are delivered to customer as per SLA
  • Company sales procedures are followed during sales calls

Customer Service:

  • All client requests are responded to within 24 hours
  • Customer visits as per schedule
  • Plant / process audits and site visits as and when requested
  • Customer satisfaction is maintained
  • Stock take on customers’ sites as and when required

Administration:

  • Customer information is captured after each visit
  • Weekly call plans and site visit reports are submitted to Manager
  • All expenditures are reconciled by due date
  • Ensure quotations are completed as and when required
  • Marketing material collected before visits
  • Quotation and probability  feedback after each visit

Marketing:

  • Attendance and participation at exhibitions as discussed with Manager
  • Market research is conducted in designated areas
  • Presentations are delivered to customer as required
  • Opportunities are supported with point of sale material
  • Quarterly presentation to management of market research and marketing activities in own area

Inherent Requirements

  • Must be medically fit .

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12
  • Degree in Metallurgy, Chemistry, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or similar (Preferable)
  • At least 3 years’ experience in mineral processing plants (Chrome, Coal, Heavy Mineral , Iron Ore)
  • Computer literate
  • Valid Driver’s License
