Purpose of the Job:

To assist the department with the processing of new licence applications and any other post licensing matters dealt with by the Licensing Department. The person appointed to this position will report to a Manager within the Licensing Department.

Key Performance Areas:

  •  Analyse, consider and recommend approval or decline all applications submitted for;
  •  Very good knowledge and experience, regarding the functioning of the financial services industry, the various   role-players and/or the regulatory environment;
  •  Sound knowledge of among others, the FAIS Act, Collective Investment Schemes Act and Financial Markets Act,
  •  Assist and support from time to time the other areas in the Licensing Department in respect of the licence   applications received and dealt with including but not limited to applications relating to the:
  • Financial Services Providers;
  •  Collective Investment Schemes management companies;
  •  Over-the Counter Derivative Providers (“ODPs”)
  •  Retirement Funds Benefit Administrators; and
  •  Assist in ensuring that only fit and proper key individuals, directors of companies, members of close corporations and sole proprietors are at all times assessed correctly against the set fit and proper requirements and approved where all the requirements      have been met.

Requirements

  • LLB/Legal or B Comm Degree or equivalent, 3 to 5 years relevant experience, in the financial services industry, regulatory environment, risk management, compliance management and possess sound insurance sector experience. Knowledge of, as well as a good understanding of the digital asset environment will be an added advantage.
