Job Description

Responsible for the trading of proprietary positions, structured trading products, pre-season, and post-season plans through the trading of derivative instruments and OTC’s, formulating and management of hedging strategies on behalf of clients, market analysis, customer relationships, risk management, position management and strategy implementation of the department. Furthermore, ensures profitability of the department through all actions and enduring growth in market share.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (Marketing / Economics and Finance / International Trade or related qualification
• 4 years’ relevant experience
• Registered Persons Examination to trade Agricultural derivatives on the JSE
• Commodity hedging experience
• Forex trading experience
• Able to respond to fast moving market conditions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Code 8 Driver’s License and own vehicle
• Clear Criminal Record
• Good administration skills

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage client service and relationships with key stakeholders;
• Visit producers before, during and after the season.
• Perform Market Analysis
• Compiling daily and weekly market reports and views
• Management of Positions

• Offering Market Risk Solutions to key customers
• Contribute to the prop target
• Execute departmental strategic plans
• Innovate/renew business and processes
• Ensure controls are in place
• Report on financial matters
• Ensure competitive products and services
• Compiling reports and market analysis communication for stakeholders
• Provide agricultural advice services;
• Communicate information to producer through relevant channel by due date and handle client queries;
• Manage price risks for producer and advise and facilitate speculative transactions;
• Ensure maximum market share.
• Proactively identify possible risks and ensure timely action to limit and/or prevent risks
• Establish a GWK culture
