Job Summary 

Provide assurance on the adequacy of business process controls to mitigate risk and evaluate effectiveness of controls. Supervise junior auditors and act as a second in charge of the Audit Department. Conduct Investigations. Provide internal controls subject matter expertise on key business projects

  • Contribute in managing expenditure throughout the Astron business to deliver savings targets.
  • Efficient execution of risk based audit plan from planning to reporting.
  • Assist in preparing annual business plan and monthly reforecast for both Compliance and Audit
  • Ensure Business Support by executing engagements in the most professional and flexible manner.
  • Ensure that reporting to clients is consistent, accurate, complete and on time.
  • Validation & Verification closeout on all actions requiring remediation  by business units and report overdue items to Audit Manager.
  • Efficient utilization of the planning and fieldwork time.

  • Provide input into the risk assessment process based on business knowledge and feedback after completion of an audit.
  • Conduct investigations and report locally within AE and to the Shareholder /Glencore.
  • Lead more complex audits by providing direction to the team to timely and proper execution of audits.
  • Mentor junior auditors
  • Prepare an internal audit update presentation for EXCO and Audit & Risk Committee meetings.

Qualifications:

  • CA or Bcom Honours with CIA.

Experience:

  • 3 years post qualification for CA or 5 years internal audit experience in a large company
  • Risk Management and internal controls
  • Proven track record in IT Auditing or Forensic Investigations will be an advantage
