About the role:
As a Social Development Officer, you will coordinate and implement Vulamathuba’s core programs, which focus on promoting lasting economic mobility of participants, promoting social cohesion, and providing psychosocial services to Communicare tenants.

We are looking for a dynamic self-starter who is a registered social worker with the South African Council for Social Services Professionals (SACSSP), who has at least 5 – 7 years experience in statutory social work and/or counselling and progressive experience in community development; experience in Social Auxillary Worker supervision as well working with the Mental Healthcare Act will be beneficial.

Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
The following education is required:
- Tertiary qualification in either BA Social Worker or B.Social Science (Social Work)
The following experience is required:
- 5 – 7 years experience in statutory social work and/or counselling
- 5 – 7 years of Progressive experience in community development work
- Experience working with the Mental Healthcare Act will be beneficial
- Experience in SAW supervision
Other skills required:
- Program budget management
- Have effective organisational and administrative skills
- Have an interest in Monitoring and evaluation
- Excellent communication skills
- Highly passionate about education and training.
- Team player and contributes to an impact-driven working environment.
- Self-starter- must have the ability to prioritise workload and continue without instructions
Professional Registrations:
- Current registration with the South African Council for Social Services Professionals (SACSSP)
- Computer Skills: Computer literacy with regard to the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Licences: A valid Cod EB (08) driver’s licence and own transport.
