SplashOut has an exciting opportunity available for a Print Co-Ordinator to be based in Umhlanga, Durban. The successful incumbent will ensure that there is compliance with all policies and procedures and strict adherence to internal controls. Ensure daily, weekly and monthly reporting is submitted accurately and timeously and contains appropriate content to enable effective decision making. Ensure maintenance and upkeep of the company’s machinery using the most cost-efficient maintenance processes. Complete all ad-hoc tasks as requested by Management from time to time. The incumbent must ensure that quality control and time management is always kept, reporting and keeping management informed if any issues arise during production and installation. Provide a support role to the Signage team.

Minimum requirements: 

  •  3 years printing / signage experience.
  •  3 years’ experience operating/maintaining printing and related machinery (solvent & UV machines).
  •  3 years’ experience working with print material both substrate and vinyls.

Advantageous: 

  •  Driver’s license,
  •  Understanding of design software (Coral/RIP software).

Operational Duties:

  •  The following tasks and responsibilities are required but not limited to, assisting, and filling in for other duties within the department.
  •  Ensure most efficient maintenance and planning solutions to minimize the company’s internal cost and company downtime.
  •  Ensure the Production Team Leader / Signage Co-Ordinator / Supervisor is informed of all activities relating to the Signage department.
  •  Active accurate reporting to the Production Team Leader / Signage Co-Ordinator / Supervisor.
  •  Completion of Artwork and Layout of designs.
  •  Artwork is signed off by clients before printing.
  •  Operating and maintenance of large format printers and related machinery.
  •  Good Knowledge of print material both substrate and vinyls.
  •  Ability to nest prints as to reduce wastage of material.
  •  Ability to use Coral and/or other design software packages, including the different rip software for each machine.
  •  Ensuring prints are completed timeously.
  •  Maintaining material and ink stock control/levels.
  •  Conducting Stock take.
  •  Ad hoc functions/duties.

People:

  •  Performance must be tracked by yourself and the onus is placed on you to set-up performance review
  • meetings with the Operations Manager.

Compliance, risk and quality:

  •  100% compliance with company policies and procedures.
  •  100% compliance with health and safety regulations.
  •  Ensure logical saving of all work, templates, etc. monthly and yearly such that each year’s financial records can stand on its own when enquiries/ investigations/audits take place.
  •  Ensure the above (final version) and other documents are chronologically saved/backed up.

  •  Assist with projects as directed from time to time.
  •  Ensure measures are put in place and steps are taken to achieve the short term, medium term and long term goals of the company.
