The Stores Controller is responsible for conducting monthly stock takes, analyzing variances, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Minimum Requirements    

  • Grade 12
  • Higher Certificate/ Diploma in Supply Chain, business administration or related field
  • Proven experience in inventory managemnet, preferably in the stores or warehouse environment.

Duties & Responsibilities    

  • Documentation – Maintain accurate records of stock movements, transactions, and inventory levels. Generate reports as required for management review and decision-making.
  • Transactional Oversight – Monitor and supervise all activities related to stock transactions including receiving, packing, picking, and issuing stock to ensure accuracy and compliance with established policies and processes.
  • Process Improvement – Identify opportunities for process improvements within the stores environment to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement recommended changes. 
  • Policy Adherence – Ensure strict adherence to company policies and procedures governing stock management, including but not limited to inventory control, stock rotation, and quality standards 
  • Transactional Oversight – Monitor and supervise all activities related to stock transactions including receiving, packing, picking, and issuing stock to ensure accuracy and compliance with established policies and processes.
  • Stock Takes – Plan, organize, and conduct monthly stock takes to verify inventory levels and reconcile any discrepancies. Analyse variances and investigate root causes, implementing corrective actions to prevent future discrepancies.
  • Safety and Security – Ensure compliance with safety regulations and security protocols to safeguard the integrity of the stores environment and protect company assets.
  • Process Improvement – Identify opportunities for process improvements within the stores environment to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement recommended changes.
